It's a classic, old school, and not all that long. Now if you grew up never playing a nintendo game, and only like games if they are flashy, have cut scenes and frill. One even includes floors that look like you are on the surface world! You can wander around and get neat items in chests, but the bosses are about unbeatable even around level 20-somethin. There is some added content to explore, but you can't "finish" these secret locations until close to the end of the game.

I must say, the graphic quality is just beautiful! The monsters and your characters in the combat screen look amazing (compared to nintendo). I also own FF origins for PS1 which includes FF1 and FF2. Light up the crystals to save the world and fulfill the prophecy! Through your adventure you will aquire a ship, a canoe and a flying ship to aid you in your travels. There is a little replay value here since you can try out different combinations for your party. You can choose your party from a selection of available classes: Warrior, Thief, Black Belt(this version called a monk), Red Mage, White mage, and Black mage. Your mission is to find 4 crystals in the world that have grown dark and make them bright again. Basically your party of 4 characters are the warriors of light.

Show some love for the PSP and Final Fantasy and pick this game up. I'm sure this will be the last release of this gem, and it is definitly my favorite version even if it is on a lacking but not exactly appreciated PSP system. This game is just one of those games that you can just come back to and still enjoy it. This game is very addictive and I found it hard to put down even though I have completed all the other versions multiple times. The treasure collector screen has been taken out which was in the PSX and GBA versions, The Bestiary Log is still intact. In the PSP version there is an auto-run feature used in towns and dungeons, a language selection, the inclusion of the special dungeons from the GBA version, the ability to save anywhere, (HUGE PLUS) and a better audio sound to it. This is basically a hybrid between the Playstation version and the GBA version. The graphics are tweaked a little bit, from the most recent release on the GBA, and the cut-scenes are there from the PSX version as well. This game has been out of several systems and now it has made its way to the PSP.

PSP allows gamers to take Final Fantasy with them on the road so they can play anytime they want without needing the TV, computer, or an electrical socket.
